Rockin' D's Riding Center

English, Western, & Therapeutic Riding Lessons
Registered NARHA Instructor: Dawn Schaeffer

ENGLISH:
English style riding consists of working at the walk, trot, and canter. Jumping is available if the student is interested. Basic Dressage techniques are used to supple the horse and let the rider have a general knowledge of dressage.

THERAPEUTIC:
Therapeutic horseback riding is available for a wide range of disabilities. The natural movement of the horse along with the heat generated from them stimulates the human body like no other activity! The therapy influences the whole person and the effects on all the body's system can be profound. Special exercises are incorporated for each individual to help treat different disabilities.

WESTERN:
Western lessons are designed to teach the pleasure riding style. The walk, jog, and lope are the main gates learned as well as special maneuvers and trail. Show ring etiquette is adhered to for safety. All riders are required to wear ASTM approved helmets while mounted.

When a student comes to ride, they start their learning on the ground and work their way into the saddle. All the horses are very calm and quiet in nature to help even the most timid student feel comfortable. Games and exercises are included in the lessons to make them more interesting.

Lessons include but are not limited to:
Safety around the barn       Grooming
Parts of Horse & Tack        Saddling
Correct Riding Position        Trail Rides

Each lesson is specifically designed for each student. A covered arena is provided so all lessons are held day or night, rain or shine.
